Description:

Appraisal:

Normally, I enjoy a fast paced thriller, but for various reasons I couldn’t get fully engaged in Reflection. Sure the pace was fast, but to my taste frenetically so. Crises came and went with such regularity and speed, that for me, the details and believability was often lost. Whitney was an okay character, but between the expected internal angst about whether she should or shouldn’t fall for, and trust, Blake (an hunky undercover FBI agent), and her paternal guilt over not being as good a journalist as her father had been, she seemed rather two dimensional.

The declared objective—to save the child--was never front and center, and the science was skimmed over.

The writing is clean and well fitted to the genre, and I was engaged enough to finish the story. I guess sometimes even a good book just doesn’t grab the reader. I think that may be the case with Reflection. It just didn’t fit my eye, but if you enjoy fast-paced suspenseful read with a smattering of sex, it may fit yours.

FYI:

Some sexual situations beyond PG.

Format/Typo Issues:

Too few to mention.
